Basement Renovation

Two years ago, my husband and I bought a 1953 craftsman. Since then, I’ve poured all of my creative energy into remodeling and designing it. We recently refinished the basement – I interviewed and hired our Contractors, managed the budget and timeline, designed the floor plan and choose all of the appliances and furniture. This was a large project which included two bedrooms, a bathroom, and laundry closet. I also had a new gate installed across our driveway and a doggy door added to the kitchen door.

To track the basement renovation, I created a Google Sheet. I used this to keep track of all of our budget, purchases, deliveries, and returns. I’ve since created a template based off of it for anyone looking to manage their own renovation.

A huge shout out to our General Contractor, Justin at DryWall Elements. We are fortunate to have found such a talented, thoughtful and professional General Contractor. I highly recommend Justin and his crew.

Now that the basement is complete, I’ve set my sites on my next project – landscaping our yard and helping friends/family decorate their own homes!

List of shops I sourced materials and furniture from:

  • Wayfair
  • Floor & Decor
  • Amazon
  • Bed Bath & Beyond
  • Amazon
  • Anthropologie
  • UtahWindowWells.com
  • SelectBlinds.com
